The Context:

In an exclusive EIRMA EU INDUSTRY ANALYSIS & BENCHMARKING event (led by AD Little, 2021), we identified current EU Industry tendencies and the best practices required to apply for boosting innovation.

• Innovation Evolution:

  Innovation management practices are evolving. Innovation leaders are using Agile approaches, focusing on managing their ecosystem and deploying digital technologies and resources to manage innovation – with the use of breakthrough innovation to disrupt the competition.

• The variation of Innovation performance:

  The Benchmarking result showed a wide variation in innovation management performance, not just between different EU INDUSTRIES / EIRMA MEMBERS but also between different BU (Business Units) of the same organisation.

• Consequence: Loss of Earnings

  The lack of effective sharing of innovation best practices across BUs may harm at least 5% EBIT of these organisations. Some global companies report that the figure could be as high as 20%.

• Issues addressed:

• How to support the transfer of good innovation management practices within organizations?
• What role should R&D top management play to foster positive communication in the culture of their organizations?
• How to get top management committed to transversal collaboration between BUs?

The CTO Forum will focus on:

Practical Industry examples and allow the discussion of WHAT has worked and the pitfalls to avoid (DO’s and DO NOT’s) when you aim for more cohesion between Business Units to fuel Innovation, Effectiveness and Competitiveness.

Chief Technology Officers, Chief Scientists, Corporate Venture Capital.
